Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)

About Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)

R&F currently handles significant MRR-based volume through partnerships with some of the leading lenders in the industry. The scope utility can also extend beyond traditional SaaS to include any company creating value based on multiples of its contract revenue.

As with any field exam effort, the specialized MRR scope has been developed to provide our partners a level of diligence to best support their decision making including:

  • Churn analysis (gross & net dollar + logo)
  • Detailed monthly revenue rollforwards
  • Identification of drivers for +/- revenue activity (and any irregularities within the MRR)
  • LTV & CAC valuations
  • Testing and reconciliation of the revenue schedules directly through the P&L i.e., tracing the MRR balances by customer to the underlying contracts and invoices

FAQ's

What is churn analysis?

A Company’s revenue churn is a measure of the lost revenue over a specific period of time, and the calculation of churn can vary Bank from Bank and audit to audit. The churn ratio can be based on monthly, quarterly, or annual calculations and can be comprised on lost revenue only or lost revenue net of revenue expansions and/or new revenue growth.

What is the benefit of a MRR exam?

As a result of our specialized scope, lenders have requested to collaborate with R&F to improve and enhance their (the lender's) own review and field exam processes. Borrowers have leveraged the analysis provided by R&F to help present to their board or future investors regarding accurate and clean KPIs.
